Business Spanish & Internships
T&E has created this program in response to the existing demand for an academic program that combines business Spanish courses with an internship experience in different areas in both, public and private institutions.
The program will take place in Salamanca during 4 weeks. It will include 45 contact hours of Business Spanish, and an additional 45 contact hours (including 22 hours of supporting internship coursework) in selected public and private organizations and institutions... Internships will take place during the evenings at the times agreed upon with selected companies.
T&E has agreements with different companies and organizations in the areas of Commerce, Tourism, Journalism, Broadcasting, Art/Museums, Education, Hostelry, as well with volunteer and Non Governmental Organizations such us the Red Cross, and other Social Work entities. Students must
have, at least, a High-Intermediate level of Spanish in order to be eligible for this program. In addition, T&E will have a selection and placement process in order to determine the validity of each candidate and provide the best internship opportunity for him/her and fulfill expectations from both, participants and companies involved.
The program also includes 4 lectures on relevant topics on Spain and International economy, business and commerce, and visits to some relevant companies and organizations in the city so students may have a personal experience onsite about how business takes place in Spain. Currently Spain is the 8th largest world economy and home of some important Spanish multinationals with branches in the US, Latin America and Europe. Additional/optional lectures on culture, history, literature, as well as exhibition of movies and dance classes will be also available to all student participants, when there is no conflict with internship time.
Students will attend classes in the morning. Economy/business/commerce related lectures will take place once per week after regular classes. In addition to classroom instruction, and in order to enhance the experiential learning aspect of the program, T&E will organize two visits to relevant business companies in Salamanca.
Students will also participate in T&E organized excursions and social activities. In this way they will have the opportunity to experience the culture of Salamanca and other cities in Spain, being able to discover all the riches of our country.
